An integrative toxicogenomic analysis of plastic additives

چکیده

In developed countries, contact with plastics is constant. Plastics contain a vast number of additives such as plasticisers, stabilisers, antioxidants, flame retardants, etc., that can impact human health. Most them have been studied separately; however, an integrative approach to identify genes, biological processes, molecular functions, and diseases linked exposure these compounds has not addressed until now. The genes most commonly affected by plastic are related apoptosis, cell death, proliferation differentiation, immunity insulin-related mainly associated cancer, mental disorders, diabetes mellitus type II obesity. functions included steroid hormone receptor activity implicated in immune signalling gonadotropin-releasing hormones. These processes the world, which endocrine system, diabetes, infertility strong interconnection among top 50 modulated shows pathways strongly interrelated. Therefore, studying effects through single-compound cannot be sufficient holistic more appropriate for evaluating potential

an infinite planar array of rectangular microstrip patch antenna analysis

the methods which are used to analyze microstrip antennas, are divited into three categories: empirical methods, semi-empirical methods and full-wave analysis. empirical and semi-empirical methods are generally based on some fundamental simplifying assumptions about quality of surface current distribution and substrate thickness. thses simplificatioms cause low accuracy in field evaluation. ful...

Leaching of plastic additives to marine organisms.

It is often assumed that ingestion of microplastics by aquatic species leads to increased exposure to plastic additives. However, experimental data or model based evidence is lacking. Here we assess the potential of leaching of nonylphenol (NP) and bisphenol A (BPA) in the intestinal tracts of Arenicola marina (lugworm) and Gadus morhua (North Sea cod). We use a biodynamic model that allows cal...

Colorant Materials, Additives in Plastic Technology

Pigments and dyes are coloring substances, i.e., substances imparting a specific color to the substrate being colored (Carolin et al. 2015). Pigments and dyes are distinctly different types of colorants. A pigment is a finely divided solid which is essentially insoluble in its polymeric application medium. Pigments are incorporated by a dispersion process into the polymer, while it is in a liqu...

Nonylphenol ethoxylate plastic additives inhibit mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I.

The first and major entry point of electrons into the mitochondrial respiratory chain (MRC) 1 occurs through NADH-coenzyme Q reduc-tase (complex I). Decreased complex I activity is associated with a wide range of conditions, including inherited mitochondrial diseases and neu-rodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson disease (1–2). More than 60 natural and commercial compounds are reported to ...

Plastic Additives in Bodily Fluids Have Hormonal and Behavioral Effects

It is known from the ubiquitous presence of plastic additives in the environment (air, water and land) worldwide, that the human body anywhere (including the Arctic) is bombarded by these compounds daily. It is not surprising then there is ubiquitous presence of plastic additives in human bodily fluids around the world, facilitated by the numerous pathways of these organic compounds into our bo...
